A 2 days GRIHA training programme was organized by GRIHA Council from 8th -9th April, 2019 at Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) Human Resource Development Institute, Noida. The aim of the training programme was to enhance the knowledge on green buildings and GRIHA rating parameters for the BHEL engineers working in the areas of design and construction of buildings in the power station projects and townships.

The programme focused on sustainable site planning, water and wastewater management, building design optimization, energy performance optimization, renewable energy utilization, solid waste management, sustainable building material and construction technology, health, wellbeing and environmental quality. Each session was carried out with the presentation of the respective criteria followed by some exercises for the participants.

Reference material and presentations made during the programme were also made available to each participant. The workshop was attended by 30 BHEL officials and was well received.
