A three-day intensive training programme was organized by GRIHA Council in association with Association of Architects and Engineers Kolhapur from 23rd January to 25th January 2019 at Kolhapur, Maharashtra to give a detailed understanding of the GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) rating system, to various stakeholders. The training programme was inaugurated by Shri. R.S. Mahajan, Assistant Director Town Planning, Kolhapur and delivered welcome address for the participants.

The programme focused on various aspects of designing, planning, implementation, construction and maintenance, which focused on sustainable site planning, construction management, occupant comfort & well-being, energy management, performance metering and monitoring, water management, solid waste management, socio-economic strategies and sustainable building materials.

The 3-day programme was divided into six sessions and each session was carried out with the presentation of the respective criterion followed by group exercises as well as individual exercises for the participants. Reference material and presentations made during the programme were made available to each participant. The workshop was attended by 40 participants from various backgrounds such as architects, engineers, students and others.
