Conference on GRIHA and Financing Green Buildings
 
Conference on GRIHA and Financing Green Buildings : GRIHA Council, in collaboration with Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and Tata Capital Housing Finance Limited, organized a one-day conference on 'GRIHA and Financing Green Buildings' on June 22, 2017 in Pune. The event was inaugurated by Shri Nitin Kalaje, Hon'ble Mayor, PCMC and Shri Shravan Hardikar, Municipal Commissioner, PCMC. Welcoming the dignitaries and participants, Mr Sanjay Seth, CEO, GRIHA Council set the theme for the conference, which was followed by detailed presentations by eminent speakers focusing on GRIHA and the cost implications for going green, along with case study demonstrations.  The event also marked the signing of an MoU between GRIHA Council and M/s Vilas Javdekar Developers. The conference ended with a positive note as the esteemed guests present at the event promised to extend all necessary support in promoting GRIHA and green buildings in their region.

The project has been awarded 4 stars GRIHA provisional rating. The project has demonstrated 25.7% energy reduction from the GRIHA base case. A solar PV system of 35 kWp has been installed. Reduction of 67% has been demonstrated on building water Use by installing water efficient flush and flow fixtures.
 
New Energy Conservation Building Code launched
Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines has launched the Energy Conservation Building Code 2017 (ECBC 2017) . Developed by Ministry of Power and Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), ECBC 2017 prescribes the energy performance standards for new commercial buildings to be constructed across India.
 
Registrations open for GRIHA rating for Existing Buildings
GRIHA for Existing Buildings rating system is a 100 point system consisting of 12 criteria categorized under seven sections such as Site Parameters, Maintenance & Housekeeping, Energy, Water, Human Health & Comfort, Social Aspects, and Bonus points.
 
 
 
China breaks ground on first “Forest City” that fights air pollution
A pollution-fighting green city unlike any before is springing to life in China. Designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti, the first “Forest City” is now under construction Liuzhou, Guangxi Province.
 
Sports Facility at IIT Bombay, Mumbai
The project has been awarded 4 stars GRIHA provisional rating. Rooftop Solar PV systems of 1MW installed for catering the entire academic campus; Out of which 25kW is dedicated/apportioned for this project.
 
Diébédo Francis Kéré’s rainwater-harvesting 2017 Serpentine Pavilion unveiled in London
The 2017 pavilion was unveiled on a perfectly sunny day – but when it rains the roof will protect protect visitors from drizzle while funneling precipitation it into a central waterfall and storing it for irrigation in the surrounding park. The pavilion is inspired by the culture of Kéré’s home village of Gando in Burkina Faso even as it plays with experimental construction techniques and embraces the climate in Britain
