Conscient Group, Gurgaon signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GRIHA Council on March 2, 2017 to obtain the GRIHA rating for all their ongoing and upcoming projects. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 8th GRIHA Summit held in IHC, New Delhi. |

Some of the salient features adopted in the New Integrated Terminal building at Tirupati Airport are energy efficient and eco-friendly material like fly ash bricks, low heat gain glass, LED lighting, and energy efficient chillers, low VOC Paints (Volatile Organic Compound), rain water harvesting, low heat gain glazing, re-use of treated water (600 KLD STP), double insulated roofing system, VFD’s (Variable Frequency Drive) for high capacity motors. |

With half the country’s population on course to live in urban centers in the next 15-20 years, there is a pressing need to improve the entire ecosystem of urbanization, the government said on Thursday. “Herein, lies the challenge in urban governance and political and economic system,” Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) Rajeev Kapoor said while inaugurating the 8th GRIHA Summit here.

Mr. Pradeep Kumar Pujari, Secretary, Ministry of Power said, “SPARSH is a brilliant initiative to integrate green technologies for efficient green buildings. This would chart the way forward for all the future green buildings and address the issue of energy security and energy efficiency, as well.” |

Libeskind unveils zero-emissions university building designed in collaboration with students |
|
Created in the same gleaming and angular aesthetic common to Libeskind’s designs, the 13,000-square-meter zinc-clad New Central Building serves as a major university hub that promotes cross-disciplinary interaction and learning for students and faculty. The massive structure comprises four interlocking sculptural forms, each housing four programs: the Student Center that spans the height of the building; the three-story Seminar Center; the 1,100-seat Libeskind Auditorium; and the seven-story Research Center. |

The MoU was signed by Mr. Alok Mehta, Vice President, Vatika Group and Mr. Sanjay Seth, Chief Executive Officer, GRIHA Council in the presence of Dr Ajay Mathur and other senior officials of Vatika Group and GRIHA Council. |

Thirsty Energy: Securing Energy in a Water-Constrained World |
|
Water and energy are interlinked. Significant amounts of water are needed in almost all energy generation processes, from generating hydropower, to cooling and other purposes in thermal power plants, to extracting and processing fuels. Conversely, the water sector needs energy to extract, treat and transport water. Both energy and water are used in the production of crops, including those used to generate energy through biofuels. |

The project has demonstrated a reduction of water consumption by planting native trees, installing low flow fixtures in building, rainwater harvesting on site & water from STP for landscape and flushing. The energy consumption has been reduced to 46.31% compared to GRIHA benchmark. |
