  10th edition of GRIHA Summit will be co-hosted by University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia & GRIHA Council
 
 
The 10th edition of GRIHA Council's annual flagship event 'The GRIHA Summit' will be co-hosted by University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia & GRIHA Council in December, 2018.

In the past, the GRIHA Summit has played host to various technical sessions on sustainable building policies, tools & techniques and exhibitions showcasing sustainable building materials, construction practices and technologies.

Over the years, the GRIHA Summit has witnessed enthusiastic participation from government, industry, building practitioners, developers, academia and all other relevant stakeholders. The Summit sees the launch of new initiatives by the GRIHA Council in response to the feedback received during the interactions with stakeholders in the preceding Summits.

The upcoming 10th GRIHA Summit is poised to mark the contribution of the GRIHA Council towards advancing the Sustainable Development agenda globally.

 
 
  SVAGRIHA Five Star Rating awarded to Grape County Resort, Khambala, Nashik
  The project has demonstrated compliance with all the mandatory requirements of ECBC 2007 and the reduction in overall insolation through the fenestration, against the SVAGRIHA benchmarks, is 55.42%. A 30 kWp solar PV plant is installed, which meets 100% indoor lighting requirement, thus reducing the consumption of energy generated from non-renewable sources. The other salient features of the project were 57.95% reduction in building water consumption by installing low flow fixtures, more than 73.24% of total living area is day lit; and 100% furniture, flush doors, door frames and other wooden materials in the project interiors made up of refurbished wood and so on.

  GRIHA Five Star Provisional Rating awarded to Engineers India Ltd. Campus, Gurguram, Haryana
 
 
The project has demonstrated compliance with all the mandatory requirements of ECBC 2007 and the EPI of the project was simulated as 48.68 kWh/m2/year, implying 56.03% reductions in EPI from the benchmark. A 90 kWp solar PV plant is installed, which meets 100% indoor lighting requirement, thus reducing the consumption of energy generated from non-renewable sources. The other salient features of the project were 66.7% reduction in building water consumption by installing low flow fixtures, more than 60.15% of total living area is day lit; and 100% of materials used in sub-assembly/internal partitions/false ceilings in the project are low energy such as Gyproc false ceiling, gyproc partition walls with veneer paneling and so on.

South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported the country is testing technology that could increase rainfall in the Tibetan Plateau by as much as 10 billion cubic meters, or around 353 billion cubic feet, every year.
