Advances in Urban Farming
The agricultural and aided sectors are a major contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions.Recent developments in this field have enabled food production to keep up with population growth,however at a high social and environmental cost. On the flip side, the concern regarding food insecurity is alarming. The number of chronically undernourished people in the world is estimated to have increased from 777 million in 2015 to 815 million in 2016 by the World Health Organization. Sustainable agriculture should be designed to enhance productivity.

On the ethical front its primary goal is to conserve and harness genetic resources for food and agriculture, strengthen the rural livelihoods, and promote equity and social well-being. This session focuses on how to improve efficiency by decoupling production growth from emissions growth in the agricultural sector and promote nutrition for the masses.
