Praroop
The 9th GRIHA Summit 2017
Praroop - GRIHA GREEN MART
Char Minar, India Habitat Centre | December 18-19, 2017
Adopting sustainable practices is not an option, but the need of the hour to mitigate the impacts of climate change. A common myth about sustainable building development is that they cost more, especially while building affordable houses. GRIHA Council at the 9th GRIHA Summit will showcase easy to implement solutions which are not only sustainable but also economically viable.
An exhibition called “Praroop” – GRIHA GREEN MART will be set up at India Habitat Centre, to demystify the myth that sustainable is not affordable. It will exhibit building materials and technologies like walling material, flooring material, insulation, doors, windows, glass, plumbing fixtures, air-conditioning equipment, lighting system, etc. Praroop will allow the visitors to choose materials to design a G+1 virtual green building for themselves. The simulation model will generate a green-score to indicate the level of sustainability and cost effectiveness of the building. “Praroop” will help visitors understand the relationship between sustainability and affordability.
Individuals, who achieve the highest Green-Score, will be suitably rewarded during the Summit.
