In these unprecedented times, one of the most complex challenges that humanity is confronted with is increasing plastic pollution. Being a complex intertwined socio-economic and environmental challenge, it is endangering both human well-being and the health of ecosystems. This year the theme of World Environment Day- ‘Solutions to Plastic Pollution’ was a reminder to us that our every action has a significant impact on plastic pollution. Let’s focus on responsible production and consumption to combat plastic pollution and accelerate our actions towards building a circular economy.
Commemorating World Environment Day, GRIHA Council participated as the knowledge partner in the Greenovation Expo 2023 held from 05th-06th June at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. GRIHA Council promoted and exhibited information and dissemination material on sustainable building practices, energy efficiency, waste and water management in built environment, sustainable building materials and construction management techniques.
The Vice President and CEO, GRIHA Council was invited to the Annual CEO Gathering and Leaders Conference organized by the Global Cement and Concrete Association in Zurich on the 13th and 14th June 2023. Strengthening the global vision of sustainability, the conference addressed attaining sustainability, resilience and decarbonization in the built environment. During the conference, India’s perspective and steps taken to integrate sustainability across the value chain was also shared with the industry experts. Many industry partners evoked interest in the works of GRIHA Council and came forward for potential collaborations.
As we begin with our preparations for the upcoming 15th GRIHA Summit to be held on 23rd -24th November 2023, on behalf of GRIHA Council, I cordially invite you to contribute ‘Articles, Blogs, Poems, or any other Creatives’ for the 10th issue of the Annual Magazine - ‘Shashwat - Let Nature Be’ with the theme ‘Empowering Sustainable and Resilient Communities’.
We hope to receive good contributions with innovative ideas, concepts and experiences including current trends and best practices in shaping a community that accelerates sustainable development and is resilient to climate change impacts.

GRIHA Council at Greenovation 2023
Greenovation 2023, an International Green Building Technology Expo showcasing green building products, technology and energy efficient products was held from 05th June to 07th June 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Commemorating World Environment Day, the expo was a great opportunity for Indian & global players to showcase the best of technologies and best practices in promoting sustainable building practices.
GRIHA Council as a knowledge partner participated in the Greenovation Expo. During the event, GRIHA Council team interacted with numerous stakeholder groups including school-teachers about the significance of green buildings, activities and initiatives taken by GRHA Council in promoting sustainable building practices. The exhibition had a footfall of approximately 100+ visitors.

GRIHA Council at GCCA CEO Gathering and Leaders Conference 2023
Global Cement and Concrete Association organized its CEO Gathering and Leaders Conference on 13th to 14th June 2023 in Zurich, Switzerland.
Mr. Sanjay Seth, Vice President & CEO, GRIHA Council invited as a speaker in the session "Essential role of concrete in the built environment". The deliberations were around the theme of how cement and concrete are essential to foster development and its role in delivering a sustainable and resilient world, along with the challenges on its carbon emissions.

Online awareness programme on GRIHA Certifications
GRIHA Council conducted an online awareness programme on GRIHA Certifications on 23rd June 2023. The certifications included: Water Positive Certification, Energy Positive Certification, Net Zero Waste Certification, and Decarbonizing Habitat Programme. The session was delivered by Mr. Ankit Bhalla, Manager, GRIHA Council.
The session received an overwhelming response and was attended by more than 100 participants.
