The theme for this year's Earth Day 2023 is 'Invest in Our Planet', which implies that safeguarding our environment must be our priority. Commemorated on April 22nd, the theme is focused on engaging businesses, governments, and civil society to take accelerated action towards climate crisis and investing in green economies. Indeed, overcoming climate change is possible if we commit to collective efforts and invest in our planet to build a sustainable future for all.
It is with great joy that I share with you all that GRIHA Council has been bestowed with the 'Best National Brand of the Year 2023 Award' at the Global Smart Build Summit and Award 2023 held on April 13th 2023, in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The event was organized by Summentor Pro and supported by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, and Government of Uttar Pradesh. GRIHA Council is inspired by this honour and continues fervently in its endeavour to promote sustainable habitats for all.
I am also pleased to share that GRIHA Council continues to expand its impact at a global scale and has registered its first international airport project- Hanimaadhoo International Airport in the Republic of Maldives. GRIHA Council is looking forward to this association and fostering partnerships in enabling sustainable and climate-smart development.
With a pledge to build a greener future, GRIHA Council is committed to sustainably reducing carbon footprint in the built environment. I am immensely pleased to share that GRIHA council has rated its first fuel filling station in India- HPCL Petrol Pump, Pick N Drive, located in New Delhi. Representing its commitment to promoting sustainability in the built environment, the project has achieved a 5-star rating under the SVA GRIHA variant.
Recently, GRIHA Council gathered for the Annual Retreat at Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand. During the eventful two days, the team reflected on the last year’s goals, deliberated on new ideas and participated in team building activities. With renewed enthusiasm the team is motivated to forge new pathways for a productive year ahead.
Reiterating the spirit of Earth Day, let's reinstate our commitment to sustainability, think innovatively and continue to take action to protect our planet and build a resilient future for all.

GRIHA Council honoured with “Best National Brand of the Year”
The GRIHA Council was honoured with "Best National Brand of the Year” award under the Solutions Category at the Global Smart Build Summit and Award- 6th edition held on 13th April 2023 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The event was organized by Summentor Pro which was supported by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, and Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The event was graced by the presence of Shri Kaushal Kishore, Hon'ble Union Minister of State Housing & Urban Affairs Government of India, Shri Brajesh Pathak, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh, and Shri A.K Sharma, Hon’ble Minister of Urban Development & Energy Government of Uttar Pradesh.

GRIHA Council at first “R Subramanian (RS) Fellowship Awards”
Glazing Society of India (GSI) organized the first “R Subramanian (RS) Fellowship Awards” on 31st March 2023 at School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. The initiative is supported by the entire Glass and Glazing Industry, Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), CSIR – Centre for Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI) and CEPT University.
“R Subramanian (RS) Fellowship Awards” was launched in the memory of Late Founder Chairman of Glazing Society of India, Mr. R Subramanian. The RS Fellowship Awards is a novel initiative of GSI wherein the main intent is to put focus on advancing research and study on glass profiles, façade, fenestration and its associated materials in India.
Mr. Sanjay Seth, Vice President & CEO, GRIHA Council was part of the esteemed jury for evaluating and assessing the participating entries along with other eminent jury members. He was also invited to deliver the Special Address at the awards.

Training Programme for HUDCO
Human Settlement Management Institute (HSMI), the Training and Research wing of Housing & Urban Development Corporation Ltd (HUDCO) under the aegis of Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MOHUA), GoI has organized a 4-week training programme, sponsored by Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), GoI, under the ITEC initiative. It was targeted for overseas professionals from developing countries on “Formal Solutions to Informal Settlements” from March 20th to April 14th, 2023.
The programme had a specific module on “Options for Rehabilitation, Provision of Basic Services and Infrastructure”, under the ambit of which a session on “Green Social Housing” was delivered by Mr. Akash Deep, Area Convenor and Senior Programme Manager, GRIHA Council.

For projects that require a rating/certification in a short time span, the GRIHA Fast Track Review process offers a quick and effective certification process. The fast-track process is intended to provide handholding support to projects that need a faster clearance for various business and government approvals. It reduces the time required for rating/certification while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the GRIHA rating system. The Fast Track Review process is offered to projects with a compressed timeline. It strives to ensure that GRIHA projects meet the requisite compliances without compromising on the quality of documents submitted.
