Panel discussion: Is inclusive growth achievable by 2030?

    By endorsing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, the world community reaffirmed its commitment to Sustainable Development. Through this Agenda, 193 member states pledged to ensure sustained and inclusive economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection, fostering peaceful, just, and inclusive societies through a new global partnership. With the goal of leaving no one behind, inclusiveness underlies the SDGs. While most stakeholders agree it's an important and compelling part of the dialogue on development, it still remains rather ambiguous as a term. Inclusive growth with equal opportunities for all people, via partnerships with all relevant stakeholders is crucial. Inclusive development ensures that all marginalized and excluded groups are stakeholders in development processes and are not excluded from development because of their gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability or poverty. This discussion will focus on the current status, and the plausibility of achieving this elusive goal.
