Indian Streets Reimagined is a design competition organised by GRIHA Council in collaboration with the Council of Architecture (COA), inviting participants to rethink the role of streets in India's towns, villages and cities as inclusive, climate-responsive, low-carbon and resilient public spaces.

The competition encourages designers to look beyond streets as corridors for movement and explore how they can better support walking, cycling, public transport, local livelihoods, ecology, social interaction and everyday public life. Participants are encouraged to respond closely to the existing character, users, activities, scale and environmental conditions of their selected street while addressing challenges such as the heat island effect, air pollution, waterlogging, accessibility, safety and the unequal distribution of street space.

The competition sought proposals that balanced mobility with public life, strengthened environmental performance and respected local identity, demonstrating how thoughtful street design could create healthier, more resilient and more liveable places across India.
