ADARSH (Association for Development and Research of Sustainable Habitats) and NHB (National Housing Bank) signed a memorandum of understanding on August 22 2013 To upscale and induce wider participation of developers and users for energy efficient housing in the country. A statement issued by ADARSH said that, energy efficient homes are the first programme in India that is focused on bringing energy efficiency in the untapped residential sector, especially the high rise apartments. Launched in 2011, the programme has received an encouraging response from builders, primary lending institutions and other stakeholders from the country.
