Conference on GRIHA and Financing Green Buildings
GRIHA Council, in collaboration with Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and Tata Capital Housing Finance Limited, organized a one-day conference on 'GRIHA and Financing Green Buildings' on June 22, 2017 in Pune.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Nitin Kalaje, Hon'ble Mayor, PCMC and Shri Shravan Hardikar, Municipal Commissioner, PCMC in presence of dignitaries such as Smt Shailaja More, Deputy Mayor, PCMC; Shri Eknath Pawar, Ruling Party Leader; Shri Sagar Gavali, Chairperson, City Improvement Committee; Smt Sunita Tapkir, Chairperson, Women and Child Welfare Committee; Mr R Vaithianathan, Managing Director, Tata Capital Housing Finance Limited; Ms Camille Severac, Project Officer, Energy and Financial Sector, AFD; Mr V Vaideswaran, Deputy General Manager, National Housing Bank and GRIHA Council officials.
Welcoming the dignitaries and participants, Mr Sanjay Seth, CEO, GRIHA Council set the theme for the conference, which was followed by detailed presentations by eminent speakers focusing on GRIHA and the cost implications for going green, along with case study demonstrations. A panel discussion was also organized to understand and discuss the virtual barriers or prevalent reluctance towards adopting the green building concept. Around 65 participants took part in this two-way dialogue, which included senior government officials, builders, developers, environment analyst, engineers, architects, and green building practitioners.
The event also marked the signing of an MoU between GRIHA Council and M/s Vilas Javdekar Developers. The conference ended with a positive note as the esteemed guests present at the event promised to extend all necessary support in promoting GRIHA and green buildings in their region.
