The Green Building Concept is gaining popularity in cities like Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior and Jabalpur, where corporate houses are adopting the technology to conserve environment, said Structural Consultant & Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) Evaluator Jitendra Vyas.

In an exclusive interview with Free Press, Vyas claimed that it was high time that the state government should promote the concept aggressively through sops and reliefs, as people are open to conserving energy. "One thing is quite visible that commercial institutions have great extent of zeal in adopting the new way of protecting the environment," he said. Vyas threw light on various aspects of saving the environment and natural resources by adopting the 'Green Building Concept' and also advantages to the public.

He said that this concept aims at encouraging maximum use of natural lights, air and energy for cooling effect in a building; for lessening use of air conditioner; more ventilators for natural lights; use of even bulbs even CFL and tube lights, and mini affordable solar plants to generate the solar energy for self-sufficiency.
