GRIHA Council conducted the webinar "Energy Efficient Buildings" for Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering – Department of Civil Engineering, Mysuru on 7th October, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The intent of the webinar was to raise awareness amongst the students, academicians, research scholars and industry personnel on the importance of Energy Efficient Green Buildings and GRIHA rating.

The webinar began with the Master of Ceremony, Prof. Chethan L welcoming the participants to the session; this was followed by an inaugural address by Dr. S. K. Prasad, Professor & Head – Department of Civil Engineering, VVCE. Prof. Abhilash B L then introduced the speaker of the webinar Mr. Gagan Kechira, Manager – GRIHA Council.

Mr. Gagan Kechira presented on Green Buildings and introduced the participants to GRIHA Council and its variants. Criteria related to 'Energy', 'Construction Management' and 'Sustainable Building Materials' in GRIHA V.2015 were explained with examples. Case studies on a GRIHA rated project were then presented. A Q&A session was also conducted after the presentation to clarify queries of the attendees.

The webinar concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Sharmila A and Dr. S.K. Prasad.

The webinar was streamed on YouTube Live and received over 815 playbacks. The session was very well received by the participants.
