The Assam state government and TERI (The Energy Resources Institute) have entered into an agreement to promote green building concept in Assam under GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) through the use of sustainable building materials.

Addressing the three-day Griha Summit 2014 in New Delhi on January 16 2014, Assam Chief Minister Mr Tarun Gogoi emphasized the need for ensuring easy availability of cost-effective materials to replace the conventional ones.
