GRIHA Evaluators & Trainers Programme at Goa
A three-day GRIHA evaluator & trainers programme was jointly organized by Association for Development & Research of Sustainable Habitats (ADaRSH), The Energy and Resources and Institute (TERI) with support from the Public Works Department (PWD), Government of Goa from 10-12 February, 2015 at Conference Hall, PWD office, Goa. This workshop was targeted for architects, civil engineers and people from construction fraternity. The training workshop received a good response and witnessed representation of professionals from the state government departments and private consultants. Around 47 professionals participated in the workshop.
The inaugural session witnessed the presence of Ms Radha Pamnani, Chief Architect, PWD, Dr Ashish Rege, Principal, Goa College of Architecture, Mr Colaco, S.E., PWD, Dr Fraddry D'Souza, Fellow, TERI, and Ms Ashwini Pai Panandiker, Associate Fellow, TERI.
Dr Rege welcomed all the participants to the 3-day workshop and introduced various initiatives that Goa College of Architecture has taken over the past few years to include sustainability in the curriculum. Ms Pamanani then highlighted the urbanization phenomenon and mentioned that it was important to have more awareness on the GRIHA rating system. She also stressed on the need to have local trainers and evaluators in the State and urged the participants to make utmost use of the workshop. Ms Panandiker gave an overview of the GRIHA rating system. She also proposed the vote of thanks after which the technical sessions followed. The faculties of the training workshop were Mr Gaurav Shorey, Mr Kiran Kumar, Mr Pradeep Kumar, Ms Swati Gupta and Dr Hina Zia. The participants found the training program very satisfactory, interesting and a great learning experience. Trainer's & Evaluator's exam was conducted at the end of the workshop.
