GRIHA Evaluators and Trainers Programme at Mumbai
A three day intensive 'GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment)' training program for evaluators and trainers was organized in collaboration with Rachana Sansad's Institute of Environmental Architecture from 29-31 October 2013 to give a detailed understanding of GRIHA and also to identify evaluators and trainers for facilitating and promoting the rating system pan India.
Ms Priyanka Kochhar, Senior Programme Manager inaugurated the training programme and presented the genesis of GRIHA to 30 senior architects, environment analyst and engineers from across the city.
The program focused on sustainable site planning, water and wastewater management, building design optimization, energy performance optimization, renewable energy utilization, solid waste management, sustainable building material and construction technology, health, wellbeing and environmental quality. The 3-day programme was divided into fourteen sessions including the GRIHA website demonstration and the GRIHA Evaluator and Trainer qualifying exams. The resource persons for various sessions were Mr Gaurav Shorey, Mr Apoorv Vij, Dr Rajkumar, Ms Chitrangada Bisht and Dr Anjali Parasnis. Each session was carried out with the presentation of the respective criteria followed by group exercises as well as individual exercises for the participants. Reference material and presentations made during the programme were also made available to each participant.
The programme concluded with a very positive note as 98% of the participants expressed their interest in conducting GRIHA training programs in their region and willingness to recommend GRIHA to their clients.
