GRIHA Green Building Tour in Jaipur
The GRIHA Green Building Tour, held on October 24, 2024, at the KM Trans Logistics Headquarters in Jaipur, was an outstanding success, offering a deep dive into the sustainable features of this remarkable green building. The event, part of the broader Regional Conclave in Jaipur, was an enriching experience for all participants, providing valuable insights into the practical application of sustainable design and building practices.
The event commenced with a brief presentation by the GRIHA team, which provided attendees with an overview of the GRIHA rating system and the significant impact of green building practices on environmental sustainability. This was followed by a detailed presentation by Ar. Atishay Jain, the visionary architect behind the KM Trans Logistics Headquarters. Ar. Jain shared the design philosophy and thought process that went into creating a building that seamlessly integrates sustainability with functionality.
Participants were then guided through the building, where they witnessed firsthand the remarkable use of natural daylight throughout the interiors, designed to reduce energy consumption and improve occupant comfort. The building’s innovative interiors featured reused scrap parts from trucks, creatively incorporated into door handles, plant pots, lighting shades, etc. demonstrating the project’s commitment to resource conservation and upcycling materials.
A key highlight of the tour was the exploration of the Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) pits, which play a crucial role in water conservation. Attendees also observed the efficient functioning of the building’s HVAC system, which ensures optimal indoor climate control while maintaining energy efficiency.
The tour concluded with an engaging interaction with the office team working in the building, who shared their positive experiences and praised the comfort and well-being offered by the green building environment. The beautiful landscape surrounding the project added to the overall appeal, showcasing the integration of nature with the built environment.
The event provided an excellent platform for networking, allowing stakeholders from the building industry to engage with experts, exchange ideas, and discuss the future of sustainable construction. The wrap-up session encouraged further discussion, and participants left with a deeper understanding of how green buildings can enhance both environmental sustainability and occupant comfort.
We thank all the attendees, speakers, and the KM Trans Logistics team for making the event a memorable and educational experience.
