A certification course on “Green Audit and Certification” was organized by the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) Dharwad for their students between 24th to 26th February 2022.

GRIHA Council officials conducted 5 out of the 8 sessions in the course. On Day 1 (24th February) Ar. Prerona Kaushik, Project Officer, GRIHA Council conducted a session on ‘Green Buildings and Introduction to GRIHA & its variants’. This was followed by a session GRIHA Version 2019 by Mr. Gagan D Kechira, Manager, Southern Region, GRIHA Council.

Day 2 (25th February) started with a session on Human Comfort (visual, thermal, and acoustic), in which the students were taught about the NBC 2005, CPCB guidelines and codes to be followed for achieving human comfort in buildings. A visual, thermal, and acoustic audit was also undertaken by students. This field exercise helped students understand the importance of designing buildings keeping in mind a comfortable environment for the occupants of the building.

The students were taught about the importance of Construction Management which was followed by a group exercise. The exercise required the students to develop a PERT Chart and a construction management plan for a project. This was followed by a discussion. The session concluded with a game called "Power Wars". The sessions were attended by about 60 participants and were well received.
