Concerned over energy conservation in its properties, Odisha Tourism signed a MoU with TERI for energy audit in its hotels and stay homes. The OTDC (Odisha Tourism Development Corporation) has at least 22 properties, known as Pantha Niwas, in operation which provided comfortable stay for the tourists. TERI will also provide inputs to make existing projects and properties green and energy-efficient. It will assist the tourism department on how to comply with GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment). GRIHA has been conceived by TERI and developed jointly with the MNRE (Ministry of New & Renewable Energy). TERI will also conduct training programme/capacity building for tourism department officials.
