In a bid to encourage energy conservation in the tourism sector, TERI and OTDC (Odisha Tourism Development Corporation Ltd) signed a MoU for conducting research and providing advisory inputs on sustainable habitats spanning various scales of projects in Odisha. The primary objective of this MoU is to develop a sustainable tourist circuits & destinations in Odisha. The project plan would include detail baseline assessment, literature study, analysis of the critical sustainability parameters, development of guideline/recommendations, development of monitoring plan & diagnostic toolkit, demonstration project etc. OTDC also agreed to register their proposed building projects with GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat assessment). TERI's would also provide GRIHA consultancy and facilitation for GRIHA documentation as per the requirement of the certification process.
