Inviting articles for the 10th edition of Shashwat - The Annual GRIHA Magazine, 2023
This year, the theme of Shashwat magazine is ‘Empowering Sustainable and Resilient Communities’. This edition aims to create a better future for all by empowering communities for resilience and sustainability to cope with the adverse impacts of accelerated climate change. It intends to highlight the crucial interdependence of all forms of life for the very sustenance of life on Mother Earth.
Guidelines for submitting the creatives
Eligibility
Any professional working in the field of architecture, engineering, consultancy, sustainability, policymaking, academics, education, and/or any other field.
Author Info
1. Photograph of the author(s)
One high-resolution photograph of each author(s) to be shared for each creative.
2. Author(s) Bio-Note for articles/blogs
- Word count:
- Articles: 30-40 words
- Blogs: 15-20 words
- Content:
- Articles: Name, current designation, name of current organization, area(s) of your interest(s), awards or honours, email ID and phone number.
- Blog: Name, current designation, name of current organization, email ID and phone number.
- File format: Word file
Guidelines for creatives
1. Images and graphics
- Number of high-resolution images per creative
- Articles: Minimum of four and a maximum of six images
- Blog: Maximum two images
- Other creatives: As required, depends on type of the creative
- High-resolution graphics (tables, charts, graphs etc.) as per the content. Preferably in editable formats.
- File Format: JPG format (All images and graphics)
- File size: Maximum 1 MB (All images and graphics)
- Quality: Minimum 300 DPI, must not be blurred or pixelated
- Source: Self-clicked or images from the Shutterstock website only to avoid copyright issues.
- Submission details
- All images and graphics must be submitted in a separate folder in addition to being placed for reference in the word document. Images should not be embedded in the word document.
- Relevant captions should be shared for all images and graphics.
2. Articles
The article(s) can be first – person articles, opinion pieces, information, or service pieces, think pieces etc.
- Word count: 1000 - 1200 words
Note: In case, the word limit is exceeded, the article will not be shortlisted for publishing. - File format: Word File
- Article headings: 4 - 8 words
- Font style: Times New Roman (size 12)
- Margins: Normal (i.e., 1" all sides)
- Plagiarism in any form is not acceptable.
- Referencing style: Chicago referencing style 17th edition

Note: The author is responsible for obtaining any necessary permission for quoted or borrowed material.
3. Blogs
- The word count of the blog should not exceed 400 - 500 words.
Note: In case, the word limit is exceeded, the blog will not be shortlisted. - File format: Word File
- Blog headings: 4 -5 words
- Font style: Times New Roman (size 12)
- Margins: Normal (i.e., 1" all sides).
Note:
1. The editorial committee formulated by GRIHA Council will choose the creatives from those submitted for publication. The criteria for the selection are relevance to Shashwat magazine, originality of scope, theoretical sophistication, and pictorial representation, amongst others.
2. GRIHA Council shall inform the author regarding the acceptance / rejection of the creative upon completion of the review process.
3. GRIHA Council reserves the right to cancel creatives at any given point of time.
