A call was made in the Assembly to turn the capital city of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram a model for the government's 'green building' initiatives. The government has taken a decision to adopt green building policies in the construction of government buildings to overcome the energy crisis and the shortage of drinking water. The policy will be made applicable to all new government buildings. Private builders will be offered incentives for adopting green building techniques, the Minister added.
