The exhibition and conference will connect Indian and foreign exhibitors, with various ministries, state governments, municipal bodies, industry leaders, decision makers, and stakeholders, who are developing smart cities.

Resource management in cities is critical to the transition towards becoming "smart". In order to get there, it is essential that resource management goals with clear implementation and monitoring indicators are established for energy, waste, water and transport. In order to ensure grid reliability, zero waste, 24x7 safe water availability and suitable transport facilities, availability and utilization of green energy would be paramount.

A session on 'Green energy: A must for smart cities' will be organized by TERI and USGBC under the aegis of Smart Cities India 2015 - Conference and Exhibition shall focus and showcase the successful and unsuccessful cases where green energy has been generated and utilized for large developments, towns and cities. The objective of the session would be to propose a suitable plan of action and guidance for large scale incorporation in the 'smart cities' initiative of the Government of India.
