An interactive webinar on JAN (Jan Awas Nirman) GRIHA Certification was conducted on 20th April, 2024 (Saturday). Considering the importance of climate change, the need for sustainable affordable standalone housing in India and to work towards the common goal of achieving carbon neutrality, GRIHA Council launched a new certification called ‘Jan Awas Nirman GRIHA’ also known as ‘JAN GRIHA’. JAN GRIHA will cater to the smaller low-cost residential buildings in India with built-up area ≤ 200 sqm.

This is our solution to integrating the stand-alone residential homes into the spectrum of impact assessments of the built sector. It is a simple easy-to-integrate checklist format certification for all stand-alone self-construct homes with a built-up area of less than 200 sqm.

It was attended by more than 50 participants and received an overwhelming response. In the course of the webinar, queries and suggestions from the stakeholders were discussed to enhance the reach of the certification. We Look forward to engaging with home loan agencies to associate and collaborate for the widespread adoption of Green Homes across the country.
