The newly constructed "Akshay Urja Bhawan" in Sector-17, Panchkula by Haryana Government at a cost of Rs 11 crore has been awarded for its Exemplary Demonstration of Integration Solar Passive Features by the ADaRSH (Association for Development and Research on Sustainable Habitats ), New Delhi. This building demonstrates energy efficient building design and green building concepts. Director General, Renewable Energy Department and HAREDA (Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency) said that it is one of its kind building in the country which has been constructed in compliance with the ECBC (Energy Conservation Building Codes) and with the five star rating of the GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) rating system for Green buildings of Government of India. The "Akshay Urja Bhawan" is the new office building of the Renewable Energy Department and HAREDA.
