Qatar's green building code from this year
All buildings in Qatar will adopt the green building code from this year. This will apply to every existing building by year 2020 Qatar will complete having all constructions environment friendly, Dr Mohammed bin Saif Al Kuwari, Director General for laboratory standardisation at the Ministry of Environment said. The Qatar Sustainability Assessment Systems is development by Barwa and Qatari Diar Research Institute. This code will help in economic growth, labour market and limit the rental rise, Dr Al Kuwari further said. The Qatar Sustainability Assessment Systems criteria are divided into eight categories - Urban Connectivity, Site, Energy, Water, Materials, Indoor Environment, Cultural and Economic Value, Management and Operations - each with a direct impact on environmental stress mitigation
