A clear policy framework, bringing to the table the bankers and empowering local bodies are crucial to development of sustainable construction and green buildings, according to Mr Arab Hoballah, Chief, Sustainable Consumption and Production Branch, United Nations Environment Programme. At the launch of the Singapore Green Building Week and the APEC-ASEAN Green Building workshop, he said the technology is the easier part in environment-friendly construction.
