GRIHA council hosted its 14th Annual GRIHA Summit on 15th and 16th December this year. As a prelude to the summit, GRIHA Council organized a 2-day training workshop on drywall construction technique, at India Habitat Centre, on 29th and 30th November 2022 in collaboration with USG Knauf, a leading Dry-Wall manufacturer. The 2-day workshop was exclusively for industry professionals. The classroom session and practical training was conducted on Day 1 by industry experts from USG Knauf and officials from GRIHA Council to ensure that the participants are skilled with the technical details of this construction technique of joining, pasting, cutting, bolting and installation of drywalls.

A factory visit was conducted on day 2 (30th November 2022) to the manufacturing unit of USG Knauf, located in Khushkhera, Rajasthan.

The workshop was well received by the group of architects and engineers working in the construction industry. During the session and the visit the participants had numerous questions which raised the level of interaction in the workshop.

Dry-Wall Technology will not only enhance thermal and acoustic comfort, but also reduce overall water consumption, air pollution, facilitate resource efficiency & waste management, and reduce the overall CO2 footprint of the project with respect to the conventional masonry walls.
